Key points
- UK-owned monetary financial institutions and their branches and subsidiaries worldwide reported an increase in consolidated external claims on an ultimate risk basis of $137.8 billion during 2023 Q2, to a level of $4,399.2 billion.
- By sector, the largest increases in claims were on the public sector, up by $52.4 billion to a level of $1,438.6 billion, and the non-financial corporations sector, up by $45.5 billion to a level of $725.6 billion.
- By region, the largest increase in claims was on Developed Countries, up $149.7 billion to a level of $2,712.3 billion.
