Insights Forum

Welcome to Insights Forum - a community of young people who share their views with policy makers on key issues that affect you and help shape how the Bank communicates. Insights Forum is part of the Bank’s wider public engagement programme.

Background and purpose

The Bank of England is committed to fostering inclusivity and understanding among all demographics, including younger audiences. So, the Insights Forum was established to gather the views of young people aged 18 to 30 on the Bank of England’s communications and on key issues that affect the public. This forum is part of the Bank’s wider public engagement programme.

This research panel represents a valuable opportunity for young people to have their say about jobs, pay and the cost of living. We’d like to know about your experiences of the housing market and how easy you find it to borrow and save money. Taking part means you can put your views directly to people who make decisions that affect you. By gathering the insights and perspectives of the youth demographic, the Bank of England can gain understanding, trust, and collaboration with future generations.

Who we are

  • We’re a public body but we’re independent from the Government.
  • We’re the UK’s central bank. Our job is to promote the good of the people of the United Kingdom by maintaining monetary and financial stability.
  • We manage interest rates in order to influence inflation – the rate at which prices rise – and make sure that the financial system (including banks and building societies) function properly. We also issue banknotes and run the system that allows electronic payments to take place.

The effectiveness of Insights Forum will be periodically evaluated based on the quality of insights generated, the impact of recommendations, and the level of engagement from forum members.

Insights forum members will be asked to identify areas where they can improve the panel’s structure and processes.
