What caused the pandemic-era inflation spike in the UK? In this speech, using a newly constructed dataset, Jonathan contrasts the UK’s recent inflation experience to that of the 1970s to see what this can teach usabout recent wage growth and inflation. He also reflects on the challenges of making policy in real-time, and the outlook for wage growth and inflation.
