An effective exchange rate index for the euro area
Quarterly Bulletin 1999 Q2
Published on
01 June 1999
By Roy Cromb of the Bank’s Structural Economic Analysis Division.
The index is calculated using close-of-business rates in London, and is supplied to agencies such as Datastream, Reuters, Bloomberg and the Financial Times. It is compiled on the basis developed and used by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), as with the other effective exchange rate series published by the Bank.
