PS3/25 – The Prudential Regulation Authority’s approach to policy

This Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) policy statement (PS) provides feedback to responses the PRA received to consultation paper (CP) 27/23 – The Prudential Regulation Authority’s approach to policy. It also contains the PRA’s final Approach to Policy document (Approach document) in Appendix 1.

Our approach to policy document sets out how we carry out our role in practice. It is designed to help firms and the public understand how we make policy and their role in that process, and to aid accountability to the public and Parliament. It also meets the statutory requirement for us to issue guidance on how we intend to advance our objectives.
PS2/25 – Streamlining firm-specific capital communications
12 February 2025
This PRA PS provides feedback to responses the PRA received to Chapter 3: Streamlining firm-specific capital communications of CP9/24 – Streamlining the Pillar 2A capital framework and the capital communications process. This PS also contains the PRA’s final policy and rules to streamline firm-specific capital communications, which simplify the content and process of the firm-specific capital communications used to set Pillar 2A, the systemic buffers and the Additional Leverage Ratio Buffer (ALRB). These changes have no impact on firms’ capital requirements.

Updated Pillar 2 templates (FSA072, 073, 075 & FSA080)
3 March 2025
From Monday 3 March 2025, the PRA has updated the version numbers of Pillar 2 Capital – Operational Risk (FSA072, 073 & 075) and Pillar 2 Capital – Market Risk (FSA080) data items. The new versions are now available to download from the Banks website Banks, building societies and investment firms.
These data items will continue to be collected via The Bank of England Electronic Data Submission (BEEDS) portal.
