UK Money Markets Code: Public Register

The UK Money Markets Code sets out the standards and best practice expected from participants in the deposit, repo and securities lending markets in the United Kingdom.

The Code is endorsed by the Money Markets Committee (MMC), comprised of market participants from a wide range of banks, other financial and non-financial institutions, and chaired the Executive Director for Markets at the Bank of England.

Voluntary codes of best practice can help to establish the basis on which financial markets function, ensuring trust between participants. This in turn creates an environment so that a fair, effective and transparent market can flourish and in which, by adhering to such codes, high standards of behaviour can be assured.

For more details on the Code or the MMC please visit Money Markets Committee and UK Money Markets Code.

This public register lists certain market participants who have issued a Statement of Commitment to the Code and wish their Statement to be included in the register. The fact that a Market Participant’s name does not appear on the public register does not mean that a Market Participant has not issued a Statement of Commitment. The inclusion of a Market Participant’s name on this public register is not a record of compliance with the Code.

If you would like for your institution’s signed Statement of Commitment to appear in the register please email  UKMoney.MarketsCode@bankofengland.co.uk
