Andy Haldane talks about social mobility with Joshua Williams

This is part of a series of podcasts on social mobility hosted by our Chief Economist Andy Haldane

About this episode

Joshua was awarded a Bank of England African-Caribbean Scholarship. He says an internship with the Bank of England helped him to rewrite a narrative that he ‘didn’t deserve to be there’.

Joshua talks to our Chief Economist Andy Haldane about the challenges he faced as a young person and his experience of the care system.

He tells Andy that your past does not define your future and explains what he does to advocate for others in similar circumstances.
