Biography

Rebecca Jackson is Executive Director for Authorisations, Regulatory Technology & International Supervision (ARTIS). She is responsible for:

  • the authorisation of regulatory transactions, where firms or individuals have applied to carry out PRA-regulated activities or functions;
  • the use of technology, data and innovation in support of regulatory processes; and
  • the supervision, as a host prudential regulator, of the UK activities of banks, custodians and designated investment firms headquartered in over 50 overseas jurisdictions.

Rebecca joined the Bank in 1998, moving to the Financial Services Authority at its inception and subsequently returning to the Bank with the establishment of the Prudential Regulation Authority. Rebecca has undertaken a variety of roles including Director of ARTIS, Director of Priorities and Resources, Head of Foreign Exchange and Reserves Management and leading the supervision of domestic and international banks, investment banks, securities firms and trading venues. Furthermore, Rebecca has negotiated European financial services legislation. Rebecca has also been responsible for developing policy, leading initiatives on hedge funds, private equity and new technologies.
