Biography
Term of appointment: 1 October 2023 to 30 September 2027
Jonathan is a Non-Executive Director on the Court of the Bank of England, where he chairs the Audit and Risk Committee.
Jonathan is the Senior Independent Director on the Board of Next plc, where he chairs the Audit Committee, and a Non-Executive Director on the Board of Sage Group plc, where he chairs the Audit and Risk Committee. He also sits as a Trustee on the Council of Durham University, where he chairs the Finance Committee.
Jonathan retired from Standard Chartered in April 2023, where he had been Vice Chairman, Corporate and Institutional Banking for the previous 6 years. Prior to that he spent over 25 years as an Investment Banker, acting as Corporate Finance adviser to the boards of large, predominantly U.K., companies on a wide range of strategic and financial issues.
Jonathan studied at Durham University and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales.
