Open House Festival

We’re open on Saturday 21 September for Open House Festival

About the event

When: Saturday 21 September, 11am to 4pm (last entry 3.30pm)

Explore the Bank of England Museum on Saturday 21 September for a rare weekend opening in collaboration with the Open House Festival. Marvel at John Soane and Herbert Baker’s architecture, test your strength by lifting a real gold bar, and find out what the Bank of England does and how it affects you.

Plus, check out our pop-up exhibition, Currency of the Future, in which artists, photographers, illustrators and designers imagine what money should look like in the future.

Our museum, along with all our events, are free.

Architecture talks

Join us for a free talk about the Bank of England’s history, architecture, and role. Talks will take place at 11.30am, 12.30pm, 1.30pm and 2.30pm.

The talks are free to join, but please note places are limited. Tickets will be available at the Museum’s Information desk on the day and allocated on a first-come, first served basis.

Please note: This is a special weekend opening of the Bank of England Museum. The Bank of England itself will unfortunately not be open for visiting. Please enter via the Museum’s entrance on Bartholomew Lane.
