If you would like to contact us before your visit, you can call us on 020 3461 5545. This phone is staffed from 10am to 4pm, Monday to Friday. You can leave a message outside these hours and we will call you back.
You can also email us at: education@bankofengland.co.uk
On the day of your visit, please speak to our staff at our information desk if you need any assistance.
We welcome wheelchair users. If you use a wheelchair, please come to the main entrance of the Bank of England on Threadneedle Street, London EC2R 8AH.
When you get there, please press the large button with a wheelchair symbol on. It’s at wheelchair level near the left-hand rail. Our security staff will operate the lift and our museum staff will escort you to the museum.
There is space for up to six wheelchairs at a time in the museum.
Within the museum, there are three small sets of steps. We have portable ramps which we put down for wheelchair users for these steps. The ramps are centrally folding and have the following dimensions:
• Weight bearing up to 275 kg
• Usable width of 71.5 cm
• Length of 2.13 metres
If you need these ramps, please tell us in advance if you can, but don’t worry if you can’t.
We have one wheelchair that you can borrow. Please speak to our staff at our information desk. Please bring a companion because we cannot provide anyone to accompany you.
We have an accessible toilet. But it does not have a hoist.
We welcome your views on how to make our museum a place everyone can enjoy.
If you have any comments or suggestions, please speak to a member of staff at our information desk, or get in touch using the contact details above.
